Announced just a month ago, the OnePlus 10T has already received details about the next big OnePlus flagship. SmartPrix has created a render of the OnePlus 11 Pro that appears to be fast approaching release. According to the report, these images are based on an early prototype of the device.
Of course, the camera hump has to look different every year, so the OnePlus 11 Pro now sports a large circle on its back. Just as the OnePlus 10 and 10T camera bump connects to the side of the phone, this circle sits on a similar looking platform. One returning feature that didn’t make it to the OnePlus 10T is the OnePlus brand alert switch. This is a three-position switch on the side of the phone that lets you toggle between vibrate and silent modes.
The front appears largely unchanged; It has a pinhole camera and a display that curves along the long edges. However, the front camera in these renders is located in the top left corner of the display rather than the center. Apart from that, the phone is expected to launch with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which will power most of the 2023 flagship Android phones.
We were still waiting for OnePlus’ more China-focused Oppo version to fit into some sort of release cadence. The OnePlus 10 Pro was announced for China on January 4th and didn’t make it to US shores until mid-April. The wildest OnePlus rumors from China claim that this date could be pushed up a bit as the OnePlus 2023 flagship will actually be released in December 2022.
The timing of new smartphone launches largely depends on the readiness of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. But even a December launch wouldn’t necessarily make OnePlus the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone in the Chinese market. Xiaomi, which regularly launches its new flagship in December, is rumored to launch it in November this year.
